Percy Jackson and the Olympians - The Lightning Thief

Last night, I spent my time with my friend to watch Percy Jackson in Bukit Raja. The Movie starts at 11.55pm. Huhu, I'm still smiling. The movie certainly brought back pure fun and magic into the cinema going experience. Part of the fun is to see how other notable names in the casting list get to play up their gods and demon status. Uma Thurman stars as Medusa, spruced up by special effects snakes adorned on her head, which at certain points looked quite CG-ed for its own good. Hahahaha… gud job Medusa!

Anyway, for people out there I’m suggesting all of you to see it on the big screen, the bigger the better. The movie was absolutely fun to watch! I give Percy Jackson and the Olympians - The Lightning Thief  9 out of 10!

Synopsis......

It's the 21st century, but the gods of Mount Olympus and assorted monsters have walked out of the pages of high school student Percy Jackson's Greek mythology texts and into his life. And they're not happy: Zeus' lightning bolt has been stolen, and Percy is the prime suspect. Even more troubling is the sudden disappearance of Percy's mother. As Percy adapts to his newly discovered status as a demi-god (his father is Poseidon), he finds himself caught between the battling titans of Mt. Olympus. He and his friends embark on a cross-country adventure to catch the true lightning thief, save Percy's mom, and unravel a mystery more powerful than the gods themselves.

Being an introductory film to the world of the Olympians, we learn facts like why Percy's such a big deal (no he didn't repel the biggest foe in the franchise), and the little do's and don'ts they have to learn from the likes of the centaur Chiron (Pierce Bronson). But kids being kids, and wanting to save his mom from the clutches of Hell, Percy and his friends embark on an American cross country road trip, and in the meantime try to decipher just who could that Thief be, having 14 days as the deadline to meet, which forms the basis of incidents and episodes that the trio come face to face with in exhibiting their powers (well, actually only Percy's).

Saya Anak Merdeka!!!

Sejarah itu tidak boleh dipadam..... tetapi ia boleh dipinda.. Sejarah itu mendewasakan...dengan sejarah ia mematangkan. Orang2 dulu berjuang sedaya keringat untuk mendapatkan kemerdekaan negara. Hari ini kita menikmati nafas segar dek orang2 terdahulu. Saya tidak mahu menjadi kacang lupakan kulit. Saya bersyukur menjadi anak merdeka! Jika direnung, Malaysia adalah lebih baik dan aman berbanding dengan negara-negara yang bergolak yang lain. Namun, sebagai anak merdeka, saya tidak boleh diam.. saya tidak boleh memandang saja apabila Malaysia dimusnahkan oleh pemimpin2 yang tamak dan gilakan kuasa. Saya kena ambil peduli apabila melihat kerakusan oleh puak2 yang menindas rakyat yang hanya besarkan perut sendiri.. seperti lembu yang kekeyangan.... saya dan anda harus berbuat sesuatu! kita harus memilih barisan kerajaan yang mampu berbakti kepada rakyat!
