A Peaceful Ramadhan
Alhamdulillah, thanks God caused giving me a chance to enjoy my life. Today is fourth day month of fasting. This is peaceful month.. Oh my God… My health also 90% recovery after I got a worse fever last 2 week. Time is flying, I faced again RAMADHAN… I hope my self will facing RAMADHAN until the end of life.
Allah – the Most High – said: "The month of Ramadhan in which the Qur’an was revealed, a guidance for mankind and clear proofs for the guidance of the Criterion between right and wrong. So whosoever of you sights the crescent for the month of Ramadhan, he must fast that month." [Surah al-Baqarah 2:185]
Allah’s Messenger, sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam, said:
"Islam is built upon five: Testifying that none has the right to be worshipped except Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, establishing the Prayer, giving the Zakat, performing Hajj to the House, and fasting in Ramadhan."
He sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam said:
"There has come to you Ramadhan, a blessed month, in which Allah has made it obligatory to fast. During it the gates of Paradise are opened and the gates of Hellfire are closed, and the rebellious devils are chained. In it is a night (Laylatul-Qadr) which is better than a thousand months. He who is deprived of its good truly has been deprived."
In the month of Ramadhan it is very important that we spent a few moments to understand some of the wisdoms and lessons that we can learn from this month of fasting. Unfortunately, many Muslims come in to this month and they are as a companion of the Prophet, peace is upon him, said: "Let it not be that the day that you fast and the day that you break fast are equal." Meaning, one's behaviors, attitude and outlook are the same whether one fasts or not, i.e. fasting has no effect upon that person. We are human being, we no perfect but in somehow we must trying the best to improved our self being a better than before.
Here, about 10 things we can look and learn as improving our self. InsyaAllah.
1. Gaining Taqwa
2. Drawing closer to Allah
3. Acquiring patience and strong will
4. Striving for Ihsan (righteousness and sincerity) and staying away from riyaa’
5. Refinement of manners, especially those related to truthfulness and discharging trusts.
6. Recognizing that one can change for the better
7. Being more charitable
8. Sensing the unity of the Muslims
9. Learning discipline
